Camiguin Island
Not very long after the darkness has gone, you find yourself on an uninhabited island, listening to the sound of the gentle waves crashing on the shore, allowing your skin to be kissed by the sun. There are no structures to shield you from the sun’s harsh rays, neither trees nor plants or shelter of any kind.
Still, you lie down on the powdery white sand, bathing in the sunlight.
You are on a bare island.
All you can see are the long stretches of white sand, crystal clear waters and Mt. Hibok-Hibok and Mt. Vulcan visible from a distance. The crystal clear waters are so inviting that you take the chance to put on your goggles and snorkel and explore the wonderful world underneath the waves.
After getting out of the water, you find sandcastles and scribbled messages next to you. Guess you probably made them. You are indeed having a perfect time – the time of your life at Camiguin’s White Island. Yes you are. You aren’t dreaming. You aren’t imagining. If you are experiencing something like what was mentioned above, you are definitely on this island.
White Island is in Mambajao, in the northwestern part of Camiguin, Philippines. This hypnotizing and stunning White Island surely leaves its visitors in awe. Generally the island has a horse shoe shape but the tide constantly reshapes its form and changes its size. At times, it looks like a C. Some other times it’s an S or I shaped. The island is submerged in the water by late afternoon to evening when the tide is high, and becomes visible again in the morning when it’s low tide. It’s amazing to see how the tides work wonders on this stunning sandbar! That’s what makes it special and extremely inviting.
Come and experience for yourself the many amazing things White Island has to offer. Source
