Pochero is one of the meaty dish that will satisfy your hunger.  Anyone can cook this easy tomato-based dish, with pork, chicken or beef.  This dish is a mixture of meat and vegetables, sauted with onion and garlic.  Most restaurants offer this with beef as the main ingredient.  However, since beef  is very expensive that’s why pochero is correspondingly pricy.  It costs Php 200-300 for one order good for 3-4 diners.
For Pochero; let the meat simmer until it’s tender.  In another pot, saute garlic, onion and tomato.  Then add the meat, tomato sauce and the reserved stock.   Add the vegetables in the same broth.  Add salt and pepper, to taste.  The dish is perfect with rice and fish sauce with calamansi (lemon) juice dip.

No special Filipino occasion is complete without Lechon on the table.
Lechon (roasted pig) never fails to bring a spark to the guests’ eyes whenever it’s served on the table.  It is quite a lot to consider to be added on the menu because of its cost but the crispy and juicy lechon is worth it.  A typical lechon costs from Php 3500 to Php 7000, or Php 300-Php 500 on a per kilo basis.  It is best served with lechon sarsa (liver sauce) made of liver and spices or a special spicy mixture of soy sauce and vinegar.  Lechon is served during special occasions and is the centerpiece of the dining table.
